Review- Abhay (Season 2)

ABHAY (Season 2) is a thriller series with splendid characters

Cast: Kunal Kemmu, Asha Negi, Ram Kapoor, Nidhi Singh, Chunky Pandey, Raghav Juyal, Asheema Vadaan, Bidita Bag

Director: Ken Ghosh

The plotline of Abhay 2 seems to be quite gripping and keeps the viewers hooked to the screen. I may have watched many Indian thriller web series with unique storylines, but one of my favourites, so far, has been Abhay on ZEE5. Abhay is a ZEE5 original series starring Kunal Kemmu as the main lead. As much as we disregard his brilliance or snub it under the massive weight of crowd-pullers, the actor has huge promise and manages to shine through.

The series is based on true events and revolves around Officer Abhay Pratap Singh, a sharp investigating officer who is set out in the world to seek justice for innocent people and is indeed one of the best web series that depicts action, crime, and drama with an impact.

Abhay is one of the best performances we have seen, with the cream of the crop, Kunal Kemmu, acting as Abhay Mahajan, who is a married man who is struggling to find time for his wife, due to the high octane thrill that his life is. The new season makes investigative storytelling attractive and uses crime-drama tropes to its maximum advantage.

The series returned with Kunal Kemmu as the protagonist, while Ram Kapoor and Chunky Pandey are seen playing the antagonist in the series. Ram Kapoor’s menacing yet entertaining act is something that makes him a smooth criminal. Along with these actors, the second season also stars Bidita Bag, Raghav Juyal, Indraneil Sengupta and Asheema Vadaan. the series is produced by B.P. Singh,  and directed by Ken Ghosh.

About the Story

Every episode kicks off with a gut-churning crime and ends with a surprising turn that sends the curiosity of the audience soaring. The cliffhangers at the end of the episode promise us a binge-watch. Abhay Pratap Singh is a surly officer with a sharp mind who can solve cases through his shrewd and perceptive know-how. Even the most complicated crimes are dealt with deftness under the tutelage of Abhay, while his assistant is present to provide some comic relief.

The series has 8 episodes in total that assure the best version of a crime thriller and promises another Series in the offing (fingers crossed!).

For action lovers and thrill-seekers, this one is a must-watch!
